What Is Replication
Replication is a manufacturing process that uses an injection molding process to produce the discs..
Compare to cd dvd duplication, Replication is appropriate for quantities 1,000 or more CD or DVD discs. The automated manufacturing processes involved following steps
- A Glass Master is produced from the content of your master disc.
- The Glass Master is used to create a faceplate for the injection mold called a stamper. The stamper contains the content from your master that will be molded into your disc.
- Melted optical grade polycarbonate plastic is injected into the mold under high pressure. When the disc is removed from the mold, it is an exact copy of your master.
- After molding, the disc is coated on the top with a thin reflective layer of aluminum.
- A layer of UV cured lacquer is spin-coated on the top of the disc to provide protection for the reflective layer as well as serve as a basecoat for the printing.
- The discs are then printed using your artwork.
